Ishan Gupta — Marketer, Social & Content at Razorpay

I like creating. Brands just happened to pay me for it.

This is where I’ve spent a good 40+ hours of my week for the past 6 years. I hope you get to know the work I’m proud of, but also the person behind the resume.

I’m someone who loves building things, figuring things out, and making them a little better than I found them. I take my work seriously, but I don’t take life all that seriously. There’s always time for fun, doing nothing, and taking care of yourself.

Still figuring it out though. Always trying to get a little better every day.

The work I’m proud of.

Latest first. Hover a name, open a role to see the work.

The most fun I’ve had at work: a brilliant team, far more than my job description, and a lot of work I’m proud of.

Marketer, strategist, director, writer, actor, producer. I’ve worn most of the hats here. Here’s a glimpse.

  • Brought AI into how the team researches and creates: AI automation for research, AI-led videos and automated content, so a small team could ship formats it couldn’t before.
  • Owned social end-to-end, setting the point of view for each platform, then running it from briefs to execution with agency and vendor partners.
  • Led marketing campaigns across IPL, Global Fintech Fest, FTX and the AI Impact Summit, owning creative, production and execution to put a B2B brand where culture happens.
  • Built creator and agency partnerships as a repeatable engine, driving 10M+ impressions across LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Made founders Razorpay’s brand custodians, an extended brand persona told through storytelling, growing social by 120% and lifting positive sentiment by 40%.

Global Fintech Fest

For the past three years, I’ve led GFF communications, strategy, creation and distribution, producing 500+ assets across three days while bringing Razorpay’s biggest product launches to life.

Where I learned to let data steer the creative: reading audience insight and performance, then building the workflows and SOPs that let content scale.

  • Built content strategy and performance reporting, using audience insights to shape content and measure impact.
  • Redefined brand positioning through consumer research, social listening and sales data, lifting positive sentiment from 83% to 92%.
  • Ran brand health research to identify market gaps and built campaigns around them, contributing to a 20% lift in branded search.

This is where I learned to be a marketer: building brands from zero to one, working with some of the biggest creators, and building a community around them.

  • Built the brand from zero, shaping its identity, voice and first content IPs.
  • Built creator-led campaigns end-to-end, from scouting and partnerships to execution.
  • Grew Instagram from 0 to 20K organically, through content and creator-led distribution.
  • Scouted 15+ creators for their growth potential, with some scaling from 30K to 500K+ followers.

Ways of working

  • Make it a little better than I found it

More about me.

These are just the things I’ve been working on for 40+ hours a week for the past 6 years of my life. What happens in the rest of the hours is usually sleeping, creating random videos and films, hanging with friends, working out, overthinking, and then sleeping again.

Outside the office

Me outside the office

I really like travelling and trying new things. Trekking, picking up random activities, and generally challenging myself a little more than I usually would.

I got into fitness a while back and, like everyone else, eventually got into running. I have the Strava screenshots for validation too, yup, I do that. Recently ran a half marathon. Worth it? Yes. Would my legs agree? No.

AI · Unskippd

The AI fever

I’ve always wanted to create visuals just from my imagination. I just didn’t know they’d come alive this fast.

I’ve been making AI videos and films, participating in AI filmmaking competitions, and generally messing around with what’s possible. I also spend a bunch of time with the Unskippd team, creating some crazy AI videos and products along the way.

Still figuring out where all of this goes, but I’m having a lot of fun with it.

Content creation

Creator first, marketer later

I’ve always thought of myself as a creator first and a marketer later. I guess that’s what eventually made me start creating reels and building a documentary-style YouTube channel.

Still very early days, but I have a lot of fun making these too. Usually involves way too much thinking, shooting, editing, and then wondering why I started it in the first place.

Let's talk.
